E:9301

Kubota E:9301 – Engine ECU: Rail pressure error high pressure

Issue description

The fuel pressure within the high-pressure common rail is reading higher than the expected parameters, or there is a fault in the rail pressure monitoring/control system.

Applies to these machines

  • SVL65-2
  • SVL75
  • SVL75-2
  • SVL75-3
  • SVL90
  • SVL95-2s
  • SVL97-2
  • SSV65
  • SSV75

Check the cause

  1. Check fuel level to ensure the tank is not empty or critically low, which can introduce air or cause pressure fluctuations.

  2. Inspect the main fuel filter or fuel/water separator for clogs caused by debris, water, or gelled fuel.

  3. Visually inspect the wiring harness and connector at the Suction Control Valve (SCV) on the fuel pump and the Rail Pressure Sensor on the common rail for damage, corrosion, or loose connections.

Repair steps

  1. Verify fuel supply

Fill the fuel tank with clean, fresh diesel.

  2. Replace the fuel filter

If the filter is old or clogged, remove the filter cartridge with a filter wrench. Apply a small amount of clean fuel to the gasket of the replacement filter and tighten it by hand.

  3. Bleed the fuel system

Follow the operator's manual procedure to bleed any trapped air from the low-pressure side of the fuel system.

  4. Clear codes and test

Turn the key switch on and operate the machine to see if the E:9301 code clears.

  5. Perform advanced diagnostics

If the error code persists, the issue is isolated to high-pressure components (e.g., faulty rail pressure sensor, sticking SCV, or failing high-pressure supply pump). Use dealer-level diagnostic software to monitor live rail pressure data and command the SCV. Do not disconnect high-pressure lines.
