E:9305

Kubota E:9305 – Engine Control Unit (ECU): Engine air intake system (poor air intake)

Issue description

This code indicates that the engine is not receiving a sufficient volume of air for proper combustion. It is typically triggered by a physical restriction, blockage, or a disconnected hose in the air intake tract.

Check the cause

  1. Inspect air hoses to see if any air-intake hose is disconnected, loose, cracked, or collapsed under vacuum.

  2. Inspect air filters to check if the primary (outer) or secondary (inner) air cleaner elements are severely clogged with dust, mud, or debris.

Repair steps

  1. Safety First

Park the machine on a level surface, lower the lift arms, turn off the engine, and remove the key.

  2. Hose Inspection

Open the rear engine door. Trace the rubber intake hoses from the air filter housing to the engine intake manifold. Re-secure any loose hose clamps. If a hose is torn or collapsed, it must be replaced.

  3. Access the Air Filter

Unlatch the clips on the engine air filter housing canister and remove the end cap.

  4. Remove Filters

Pull out the primary (outer) air filter element. Next, carefully remove the secondary (inner) safety filter.

  5. Clean the Housing

Use a clean, damp cloth to wipe out any loose dirt or dust from the inside of the filter housing. Do not use compressed air, as this can force dirt into the engine intake.

  6. Install New Filters

Insert the new inner filter, ensuring it seats firmly. Then, install the new outer filter over it.

  7. Seal the Canister

Replace the housing end cap and secure the latches. Ensure the dust ejector valve (the rubber duckbill on the cap) is pointing downward.

  8. Test the Machine

Start the engine and monitor the dash panel. If the E:9305 code clears, the repair is successful. If the code persists, Kubota advises contacting a local dealer, as the issue may lie with a faulty intake pressure sensor or wiring harness.
