Kubota P0267 – Engine Control Module (ECM): Injector Driver #3 Open/Short-To-Ground

The engine control system detects an electrical fault in the circuit controlling the #3 cylinder's fuel injector. This can be caused by an open circuit or short-to-ground in the injector driver circuit, a loss of the 12.0V power feed, an open injector coil, or the off-state low-side voltage dropping below 4.0 volts. The system will typically enforce a 'Low Rev Limit' (engine derate).

   Inspect the wiring harness and connectors between the ECM and Fuel Injector #3 for chafed wires, melted insulation, or loose/corroded connector pins.

   Turn the key ON (engine off) and verify that there is a steady 12.0V power supply feed to the positive side of the #3 injector coil.

   Check the ground circuit side (which routes back to the ECM injector driver) for continuity and ensure it is not shorted to ground anywhere along the engine harness.

   Disconnect the injector connector and measure the resistance between the injector terminals with a multimeter (Specification for WG1605: 11.7 to 12.3 Ω at 20 °C / 68 °F).

   Disconnect Power

   Disconnect the negative battery cable before performing any electrical repairs.

   Repair Wiring

   If the diagnostic checks revealed a broken wire, short-to-ground, or a damaged connector in the harness for Injector #3, repair the wiring or replace the connector terminal.

   Replace Injector

   If the wiring is intact but the injector coil resistance tested out of specification, remove the fuel rail and replace Fuel Injector #3.

   Replace ECM

   If the wiring harness tests perfectly (no opens or shorts) and the fuel injector tests within the correct resistance specifications, the internal injector driver within the ECM has failed. The ECM must be replaced.

   Clear Codes

   Reconnect the battery, use a diagnostic scan tool to clear the P0267 fault code, and run the engine to verify the repair.
