Kubota P0627 – Engine Control Unit (ECU): Fuel Pump 'A' Control Circuit/Open / Suction Control Valve (SCV) Circuit Interruption

The Engine Control Unit (ECU) detects an open circuit at the Suction Control Valve (SCV) / MPROP, losing the ability to command the high-pressure fuel pump, which results in insufficient fuel output, engine stalling, or a no-start condition.

   Visually inspect the SCV connector on the high-pressure fuel injection pump to verify it is securely seated and not knocked off by debris.

   Trace and inspect the wiring harness from the SCV back to the ECU for broken, frayed, or corroded wires.

   Perform resistance testing from the ECU side across the SCV terminals (specification is 2.6 to 3.5 Ω at 20°C, with insulation resistance of 100 MΩ or higher).

   Check the fuel pump relay and dedicated fuel system fuses to ensure they are not blown or faulty.

   Secure Connections

   If the SCV connector was found unplugged, clean the terminals of any debris, apply dielectric grease, and snap the connector firmly back into place.

   Repair Wiring

   If a break or high-resistance corrosion is found in the wiring harness between the ECU and the SCV, splice and seal the damaged wire using heat-shrink connectors, or replace the damaged harness section.

   Replace the SCV

   If the wiring is intact and the ECU is sending the correct voltage but the SCV fails the resistance test, remove the mounting bolts, extract the old valve and O-rings, and install the new SCV kit.

   Clear Codes

   Turn the key switch to the 'OFF' position to allow the system to reset, or use a diagnostic scan tool (like Kubota Diagmaster) to clear the stored P0627 code.
