P1A06

Kubota P1A06 – Engine ECU: High pressure delivery system too high

Issue description

The common rail fuel system is detecting a fuel pressure that is excessively higher than the target pressure commanded by the system. When this code triggers, the engine experiences insufficient output, worsening exhaust gas emissions, and the engine may stop.

Applies to these machines

  • Kubota V3800-TIEF4
  • Kubota V3800-TIEF4C
  • Kubota V3800-TIE5
  • Kubota V3307-CR-TE4B
  • Takeuchi TL12V2
  • Takeuchi TL12R2
  • Kubota SVL75
  • Kubota SVL95-2S
  • Kubota SVL97-2
  • LeeBoy equipment

Check the cause

  1. Replace the standard fuel hose with a transparent one to effectively detect the existence of air in the fuel lines

  2. Inspect the entire fuel piping system for any signs of fuel leakage

  3. Connect the diagnostic tool to the CAN1 connector and monitor live data, comparing 'Actual rail pressure' against 'Target rail pressure' to verify the over-pressurization condition

  4. Inspect the Pressure Relief Valve (PRV) and the Pressure Control Valve (PCV) / Suction Control Valve (SCV) for electrical shorts or mechanical binding

Repair steps

  1. Stop the Engine

Ensure the engine is shut down immediately as recommended by Kubota to prevent catastrophic fuel system damage.

  2. Relieve System Pressure

Wait for the engine to cool down. Slowly loosen connections to gradually release the internal high pressure from the fuel system before removing any hoses or components.

  3. Repair Leaks/Air Intrusion

If the transparent hose test revealed air bubbles or if physical leaks were found in the piping, repair or replace the compromised fuel lines.

  4. Replace Faulty Valves

If the piping is intact and no air is present, the issue is typically a failed Pressure Relief Valve (PRV) or Pressure Control Valve (PCV). Replace the faulty valve.

  5. Clear Codes and Test

Reconnect the diagnostic tool, clear the P1A06 code, and run the engine while monitoring the actual vs. target rail pressure to ensure the system is regulating fuel pressure correctly.
