Kubota P2294 – Engine Control Module (ECM): Open circuit of harness or coil in PRV line
Issue description
The Engine Control Module (ECM) has detected a malfunction—specifically an open circuit—in the control circuit of the fuel Pressure Relief Valve (PRV) / fuel pressure regulator. This error sets after 8 or more times of a failure, indicating that a separate issue has repeatedly caused the common rail fuel pressure to rise higher than normal, which eventually compromises the pressure limiter valve on the rail.

Check the cause
Check for other active pressure system codes (e.g., P0088, P0093, P0191) or PCV/PRV abnormality codes (e.g., P0089, P1A06, P1A0D, P2293) to identify the root cause of high rail pressure
Inspect the wiring harness and connectors leading to the PRV for corrosion, physical damage, or an actual open circuit
Check the fuel delivery path, including the high-pressure pump and fuel filters, to ensure there are no blockages or pump control failures causing pressure spikes

Repair the Root Cause
Fix any wiring harness issues or fuel delivery problems (such as a faulty high-pressure pump or PCV) that caused the initial pressure spikes.
Replace the Common Rail
Replace the entire common rail assembly. Anytime error P2294 populates, the entire common rail assembly must be replaced because the pressure limiter valve on the rail has been permanently compromised by the repeated overpressure events.
Reset the ECU Counter
Once the rail assembly has been replaced, use dealer diagnostic software (e.g., Kubota Diagmaster) to perform the 'P/L Valve Opening Counter Reset' (Pressure Limiter Valve Opening Counter Reset). If this abuse counter is not reset, the system will not clear the fault.
Clear Codes and Test
Clear the DTCs and run the engine to verify that rail pressure remains within normal parameters and the code does not return.
