Massey Ferguson 0.1.4C – Dash / Instrument Panel: Issue With Signal From Outside Air Temperature Sensor (Dash)
Issue description
The system has detected that the signal voltage from the ambient/outside air temperature sensor is either too high or too low, indicating an electrical fault such as an open circuit, a short circuit to ground, or a short circuit to positive in the sensor or its wiring harness.

Check the cause
Visually inspect the outside air temperature sensor (located near the grille or cab air intake), its 2-pin connector, and wiring for corrosion, chafing, or physical damage.
Use a multimeter to check the wiring harness between the sensor and the Dash controller for continuity, and verify there is no short circuit to ground or short circuit to positive.
Measure the resistance across the two pins of the sensor. The baseline resistance should be approximately 5000 Ohms. An open circuit (infinite resistance) or a dead short indicates the sensor has failed internally.
Repair steps
Disconnect battery
Turn off the tractor ignition and disconnect the battery ground cable to prevent electrical spikes.
Locate sensor
Locate the outside air temperature sensor.
Unplug connector
Depress the locking tab on the 2-pin electrical connector and carefully unplug it from the sensor.
Remove faulty sensor
Unclip or unbolt the faulty sensor from its mounting bracket.
Install new sensor
Snap the new replacement sensor into the mounting location.
Reconnect connector
Reconnect the 2-pin electrical connector, ensuring it clicks securely into place.
Verify and clear code
Reconnect the battery, turn on the ignition, and verify that the ambient temperature displays correctly on the dash. Clear the 0.1.4C fault code using a diagnostic tool or the dash menu.
