Massey Ferguson 0.2.5F – Dash: Issue With Voltage From Navigation Buttons (Dash)

The system is detecting an irregular voltage signal (either too high, too low, or an open/short circuit) coming from the navigation buttons used to control the Setup and Information Screen (SIS) on the tractor's dashboard.

   Test battery voltage with a multimeter to ensure ~12.6V when off and proper charging voltage when running, as low system voltage can trigger false dash codes.

   Inspect the cab/dashboard fuse block for any blown fuses related to the instrument cluster or cab controls.

   Physically inspect the navigation buttons on the dash/console to check if any are stuck, jammed with debris, or damaged.

   Inspect the wiring harness connecting the navigation keypad to the main dashboard module for pinched wires, corrosion at the connector pins, or loose connections.

   Perform a voltage output test by back-probing the navigation button connector to verify if the voltage changes smoothly when the buttons are pressed, or if it is shorting out.

   Disconnect Power

   Always disconnect the negative terminal of the tractor's battery before working on the electrical system to prevent short circuits.

   Access the Dashboard/Console

   Remove the necessary trim panels surrounding the steering column and the SIS dashboard display to access the rear connectors.

   Clean Connections

   Disconnect the harness from the navigation buttons and the dash. Clean the terminals with electrical contact cleaner and apply a small amount of dielectric grease. Reconnect and test; if the code persists, proceed to replacement.

   Replace the Faulty Component

   If the buttons are a separate modular keypad, unscrew the retaining clips, remove the old keypad, and plug in the new one. If the buttons are integrated into the dashboard assembly and the internal circuitry has failed, the entire dashboard module must be replaced.

   Reinstall the dashboard trim panels and reconnect the battery.

   Clear Codes

   Turn the ignition on and use the tractor's diagnostic menu (or a dealer diagnostic tool) to clear the 0.2.5F fault code. Verify that the SIS screen navigates properly without triggering the code again.
