Massey Ferguson 00.0.35 – Dash: Issue With The Signal Voltage From Forward/Reverse Lever

Issue description

The electrical signal voltage coming from the forward/reverse shuttle lever is out of the expected range, preventing the system from accurately determining the operator's intended direction of travel.

Check the cause

  1. Confirm if the tractor is failing to shift into forward or reverse when the lever is actuated

  2. Inspect the wiring harness leading from the Forward/Reverse lever switch to the Dash module for chafed wires, loose pins, or corrosion in the connector plug

  3. Use a multimeter to test the signal voltage output from the switch while moving the lever through its positions (Forward, Neutral, Reverse) to check for out-of-range voltage

Repair steps

  1. Preparation

Turn off the tractor, ensure the parking brake is engaged, and disconnect the negative battery terminal to prevent electrical shorts.

  2. Access the Switch

Remove the steering column shrouds/cowling to expose the base of the Forward/Reverse lever switch.

  3. Disconnect

Unplug the 12V cable and plug connector from the switch assembly.

  4. Removal

Remove the fixing screws holding the switch to the steering column bracket.

  5. Installation

Mount the new Forward/Reverse lever switch and secure it with the fixing screws.

  6. Reassembly

Reconnect the electrical plug and reinstall the steering column shrouds.

  7. Testing

Reconnect the battery. Turn the key on, clear the stored 00.0.35 fault code from the Dash module, and test the forward/reverse shuttle operation to ensure the code does not return.
