Massey Ferguson 00.0.39 – Dash: Issue With Signal Voltage From Clutch Pedal Sensor, High Voltage

The control module is receiving a voltage signal from the clutch pedal position sensor that exceeds the expected maximum threshold. This is typically caused by a short circuit to power (+12V) in the wiring harness, a failed sensor, or a sensor that has lost its calibration.

   Visually inspect the clutch pedal sensor and physical linkage to ensure it is not stuck, broken, or misaligned.

   Inspect the wiring harness and connector for chafed wires shorting to a +12V power source and ensure the connector is clean and free of corrosion.

   Back-probe the sensor connector with a multimeter and sweep the clutch pedal through its full range of motion to check for smooth voltage scaling (a spike to system voltage indicates an internal short).

   Attempt a clutch pedal calibration via the tractor's dash menu to resolve out-of-range codes before replacing the sensor.

   Disconnect Power

   Turn off the ignition and disconnect the negative battery cable to prevent electrical shorts during repair.

   Access the Sensor

   Remove the lower dash or pedal box trim panels as necessary to access the clutch pedal assembly.

   Remove the Old Sensor

   Unplug the electrical connector from the clutch pedal sensor. Remove the retaining screws/bolts holding the sensor to the pedal bracket and slide the sensor off the linkage.

   Install the New Sensor

   Mount the new OEM sensor onto the linkage, ensuring the mechanical fork/pin aligns correctly with the pedal's pivot point. Secure the mounting hardware.

   Reconnect

   Plug the electrical connector back in and reconnect the battery.

   Calibrate

   Turn the key on and perform a clutch pedal calibration procedure (usually accessed through the dash diagnostic menu) so the Dash controller can learn the new sensor's minimum and maximum voltage values.
