Massey Ferguson 00.0.73 – Dash Module: Dash Module Has Noted An Issue With The Transmission Lubrication Pressure (Dash)

The system has detected abnormal or low hydraulic pressure within the transmission's lubrication circuit. When the pressure drops below the safe operating threshold, or if the sensor circuit fails, this code is triggered to prevent catastrophic transmission damage.

   Check the transmission/hydraulic fluid level and condition on a level surface (low fluid is the most common cause of a sudden drop in lubrication pressure).

   Perform a mechanical pressure test by installing a manual hydraulic pressure test gauge at the transmission lubrication check nipple. Run the tractor to operating temperature and measure pressure at low and high idle to verify if it meets OEM specifications.

   Inspect the wiring harness leading to the transmission lubrication pressure sensor for chafed wires, loose connector pins, open circuits, or a short to ground.

   Inspect the transmission hydraulic filter for heavy restriction, which can cause pressure drops in the lubrication circuit.

   Secure the machine

   Park the tractor on level ground, engage the parking brake, lower any implements, and turn off the engine.

   Address fluid issues

   If diagnostic checks revealed low fluid, top off the reservoir with the manufacturer-specified fluid (e.g., Massey Ferguson Permatran 821XL). If the fluid is burnt or heavily contaminated, perform a complete transmission fluid and filter change.

   Locate the sensor

   Locate the transmission lubrication pressure sensor/switch on the side of the transmission housing.

   Remove the faulty sensor

   Disconnect the electrical harness from the sensor. Place a small catch pan underneath to catch any residual hydraulic fluid, then unscrew the sensor from the transmission block.

   Install the new sensor

   Thread the new OEM pressure sensor into the port. Tighten it to the manufacturer's specified torque to avoid cracking the housing or causing leaks.

   Reconnect and test

   Reconnect the electrical harness. Start the tractor and let it reach operating temperature. Verify that the dash warning light extinguishes and the 00.0.73 fault code clears. Inspect the new sensor fitting for any fluid leaks.
