Check the cause

  1. Remove the right-hand console or armrest trim to visually inspect the wiring harness and connector at the base of the T-handle for chafing, pinched wires, or loose pins.

  2. Perform a voltage sweep test by back-probing the signal wire at the T-handle connector with a multimeter. Monitor the voltage as you pulse the lever forward and backward; it should change smoothly without dropping out or spiking.

  3. Check the harness continuity between the T-handle and the Dash controller for open circuits, high resistance, or shorts to ground/power.

  4. Ensure the physical T-handle mechanism, support bracket, and internal springs are not broken, which could prevent the lever from engaging the sensor properly.

Repair steps

  1. Disconnect Power

Turn off the tractor and disconnect the negative battery cable.

  2. Access the Lever

Carefully pry up or unbolt the right-hand console/armrest trim panels surrounding the transmission controls.

  3. Disconnect Wiring

Unplug the electrical connector at the base of the T-handle assembly.

  4. Remove the Assembly

Unbolt the T-handle support bracket from the console base. Note the position of the return springs and support brackets.

  5. Install the New Part

Mount the new T-handle assembly into the console and secure the retaining bolts.

  6. Reassemble

Reconnect the electrical harness and snap/bolt the console trim panels back into place.

  7. Test

Reconnect the battery. Turn the key on, clear the inactive 00.00.36 fault code from the Dash, and test the transmission shifting (both powershift pulses and range changes) to confirm the repair.
