Massey Ferguson 00.00.47 – Dash: Forward/Reverse Lever Neutral Position Switch Issue
Issue description
The system is detecting an implausible signal, open circuit, or short circuit from the Neutral Position Switch located within the Forward/Reverse (Power Shuttle) lever assembly. Because the controller cannot verify if the shuttle lever is in the neutral position, it will likely lock out transmission engagement as a safety precaution to prevent unintended movement.

Check the cause
Visual Inspection: Remove the steering column shrouds and inspect the wiring harness leading to the base of the Forward/Reverse lever. Look for chafed wires, pinched harnesses, or loose connector pins.
Multimeter Testing: Disconnect the shuttle lever connector. Using a multimeter, test the continuity of the internal neutral switch pins while physically moving the lever in and out of the neutral detent. If the switch does not show a clear change in state (open/closed) when in neutral, the internal contacts are worn out.
Check Fuses: Verify that no fuses related to the dashboard or transmission controls are blown.
Repair steps
Disconnect Power
Disconnect the tractor's battery to prevent electrical shorts or accidental CAN BUS faults during the repair.
Access the Column
Remove the plastic covers/shrouds surrounding the steering column to expose the base of the shuttle lever.
Disconnect the Lever
Unplug the electrical connector linking the shuttle lever to the Dash harness.
Remove the Assembly
Remove the mounting screws or bolts securing the shuttle lever to the steering column bracket.
Install the New Part
Mount the new AGCO Power Shuttle lever, ensuring it seats correctly in the column. Secure the fasteners.
Reconnect
Plug the electrical connector back in and ensure it clicks into place.
Reassemble and Test
Reinstall the steering column covers, reconnect the battery, and turn the key on. Verify that the 00.00.47 code has cleared and test the tractor to ensure it shifts smoothly between Forward, Neutral, and Reverse.
