Massey Ferguson 00.01.43 – Dash: Problem With Dash Configuration (Dash)

Issue description

This code indicates that the instrument panel (dashboard) has lost its configuration parameters, has a corrupted memory file, or is experiencing an internal software/hardware mismatch.

Check the cause

  1. Verify battery health, alternator output, and ensure the dash is receiving steady voltage, as low voltage can cause control modules to drop configuration.

  2. Check the wiring harness connectors at the back of the instrument panel for loose pins, corrosion, or poor grounds.

  3. Look for accompanying CAN codes such as 00.01.44 or 00.01.49, which may indicate a CAN bus communication failure rather than a failed dash.

  4. Connect the AGCO Electronic Diagnostic Tool (EDT) to verify if the dash can be communicated with and if the configuration file can be reloaded or flashed.

Repair steps

  1. Disconnect Power

Disconnect the tractor's battery before removing electrical components to prevent short circuits.

  2. Remove the Dash Panel

Remove the steering column shrouds and retaining screws holding the instrument cluster in place.

  3. Disconnect the Harness

Carefully unplug the multi-pin connectors from the rear of the dash cluster. Inspect the pins for any signs of arcing or moisture.

  4. Install the New Dash

Connect the wiring harness to the replacement instrument panel and secure it back into the steering console.

  5. Reprogramming

Use the AGCO EDT (dealer diagnostic software) to program the new instrument panel. You will need to input the tractor's specific configuration (model number, transmission type, tire rollout size, etc.) so it can communicate correctly with the Engine Control Module (EEM) and Transmission Controller.

  6. Clear Codes and Test

Reconnect the battery, clear the inactive 00.01.43 fault code, and start the tractor to verify that all gauges sweep correctly and no warning lights return.
