Massey Ferguson 00.01.46 – Dash: Clutch Pedal Top Clutch pedal Switch Open
Issue description
The controller is detecting an open circuit or a missing signal from the top clutch pedal switch. When the circuit is open, the tractor's computer cannot verify if the clutch pedal is fully released, which can lead to harsh clutch engagement, transmission shifting issues, or a failure to move.

Check the cause
Check the wiring harness leading to the top clutch pedal switch for chafing, breaks, or rodent damage (common cause for an open circuit).
Verify that the connector on the top clutch pedal switch has not been installed backwards during previous maintenance.
Ensure the clutch pedal returns fully to the top position; inspect for a broken or stretched clutch pedal return spring.
Test for continuity across the switch pins when the pedal is at rest to verify if the switch has failed internally.
Repair steps
Access the Pedal Box
Ensure the tractor is turned off and the key is removed. Locate the clutch pedal switch assembly situated in the pedal box.
Remove the Faulty Switch
Disconnect the electrical connector from the top clutch pedal switch. Unbolt or unclip the switch from its mounting bracket.
Install the New Switch
Mount the replacement switch into the bracket and reconnect the electrical harness.
Perform Clutch Pedal Calibration
With the engine stopped, switch on the ignition. Press the clutch pedal down completely and hold it, then lift/release the pedal. Follow the specific dash-screen prompts or use the dealer diagnostic tool if your specific model requires navigating to the calibration menu.
Clear Codes
Clear the 00.01.46 fault code from the Dash module and test drive the tractor to ensure smooth clutch engagement.
