Massey Ferguson 00.01.5F – Dash (Dashboard / Instrument Cluster Control Module): Issue With Voltage From Navigation Buttons (Dash)

The controller is receiving an out-of-range electrical signal (such as a short circuit, open circuit, or incorrect resistance/voltage) from the physical buttons used to navigate the menus on the central LCD screen of the instrument cluster.

   Inspect the navigation buttons on the dash for physical damage, sticking, or signs of liquid/moisture ingress (a common cause of switch voltage issues in agricultural cabs).

   Look for related dash supply codes, such as 00.01.61 (Dash Output Supply Voltage Too Low), which indicates the dash itself is failing to send the correct reference voltage (often 9.5V) to its sensors and buttons.

   Access the rear of the instrument cluster. Inspect the main wiring harness connectors for loose pins, corrosion, or chafed wires that could be shorting the button signal to the ground.

   Back-probe the connector for the navigation buttons to verify if the voltage changes smoothly when the buttons are pressed, or if the circuit is stuck open/shorted.

   Disconnect Power

   Disconnect the tractor’s battery (negative terminal first) to prevent electrical spikes during module removal.

   Remove Trim

   Remove the steering column shrouds and the plastic trim panels surrounding the instrument cluster.

   Extract the Dash Module

   Remove the retaining screws holding the instrument cluster in place. Carefully tilt the cluster forward.

   Disconnect Harnesses

   Unplug the electrical connectors from the rear of the dash.

   Replace the Component

   If your specific model features a modular navigation button switch pack that plugs into the dash, unclip the old switch pack and install the new one. If the buttons are integrated directly into the instrument cluster's printed circuit board (PCB), the entire instrument cluster assembly must be replaced (or sent to an agricultural electronics specialist for board-level repair).

   Reassembly & Calibration

   Reconnect the wiring harnesses, mount the cluster, and reinstall the trim. Reconnect the battery.

   Clear Codes

   Use a diagnostic tool or the tractor's onboard diagnostic menu to clear the 00.01.5F fault code and verify the buttons now navigate the LCD screen properly.
