00.02.33

Massey Ferguson 00.02.33 – Dash: Clutch Pedal Calibration Issue

Issue description

The tractor's electronic control system has lost the calibrated upper and lower limits of the clutch pedal position sensor (potentiometer). When this occurs, the tractor may experience harsh or 'jumpy' clutch engagement, erratic shifting, delayed direction changes, or a complete lack of response when using the shuttle lever.

Check the cause

  1. Ensure transmission gear oil is preheated to between 35°C (95°F) and 45°C (113°F), or up to 50°C

  2. Verify tractor is parked on flat ground with the handbrake securely applied

  3. Check that PTO is disengaged, hand throttle is at idle, and power shuttle control lever is in Neutral (N)

  4. Inspect the clutch pedal potentiometer for physical damage, moisture ingress, or wiring harness chafing if calibration repeatedly fails

Repair steps

  1. Ensure the engine is running and all pre-diagnostic conditions are met

Conditions include oil temp, neutral, and handbrake.

  2. Enter the Dash service menu

Press and hold the designated menu button (often the 'A' button or the rotary dial on the dash).

  3. Navigate to the 'Clutch Pedal Calibration' screen

Use the arrow buttons to navigate the menu.

  4. Follow the on-screen prompts to set the limits

You will typically be asked to press the clutch pedal fully to the floor to set the bottom limit, and release it completely to set the top limit.

  5. Check for confirmation or failure codes

The dashboard will display a confirmation message if successful. If an anomalous condition is detected, a failure code (often a 'U' code) will display indicating the sensor needs replacement.

  6. Save settings and restart

Once calibrated, exit the menu, turn the tractor off to save the settings, and restart it.

  7. Test drive the tractor

Use forward-to-reverse and neutral-to-forward maneuvers to ensure smooth engagement.
