00.02.37

Massey Ferguson 00.02.37 – Dashboard / Instrument Panel module: Issue With Signal Voltage From Clutch Pedal Sensor (Dash)

Issue description

The controller is receiving an incorrect, out-of-range, or missing electrical voltage signal from the clutch pedal sensor (which operates as a potentiometer/switch).

Applies to these machines

  • 7714
  • 7715
  • 7715S
  • 7716
  • 7716S
  • 7718
  • 7718S

  • 7720S
  • 7722
  • 7722S
  • 7724

  • 7726S
  • Tier 4 (2015-2021)
  • 7700
  • 7700S

Check the cause

  1. Inspect the clutch pedal sensor and its wiring harness for physical damage, rubbing, or broken wires.

  2. Disconnect the sensor and check the pins for corrosion, moisture, or loose connections.

  3. Use a multimeter to verify the voltage signal from the clutch pedal sensor, looking for a smooth voltage sweep as the pedal is depressed without dead spots.

  4. Check the wiring harness between the sensor and the Dash module for a short circuit to +12V, a short to ground, or an open circuit.

Repair steps

  1. Turn off the tractor and disconnect the battery to ensure electrical safety.

  2. Locate the clutch pedal sensor mounted on the clutch pedal linkage/fork assembly inside the cab.

  3. Disconnect the electrical harness from the sensor.

  4. Remove the mounting hardware (screws/brackets) and detach the faulty sensor from the pedal fork.

  5. Install the new clutch pedal sensor and secure it with the mounting hardware.

  6. Reconnect the electrical harness to the sensor.

  7. Reconnect the tractor's battery.

  8. Perform a clutch pedal sensor calibration.

Because the new sensor's physical tolerances will differ slightly, the Dash module must 'learn' the new minimum (pedal up) and maximum (pedal down) voltage values. This is typically done via the dashboard diagnostic menu or a dealer service tool.

  9. Clear the logged fault codes and test the tractor to ensure smooth transmission engagement.
