00.02.3C

Massey Ferguson 00.02.3C – Dash: Issue With The Signal Voltage From Forward/Reverse Lever, Low Voltage (Dash)

Issue description

The system has detected that the signal voltage coming from the Forward/Reverse lever (also known as the Power Shuttle lever) has dropped below the acceptable threshold. This typically indicates a short to ground in the wiring, a disconnected plug, or an internal failure of the microswitches/potentiometer inside the shuttle lever assembly.

Check the cause

  1. Verify that the tractor's battery and alternator are providing proper system voltage, as severely low voltage can trigger localized sensor codes.

  2. Remove the steering column shrouds and visually inspect the wiring harness leading to the Forward/Reverse lever for chafed wires, pinched harnesses, or exposed copper shorting to ground.

  3. Disconnect the shuttle lever plug and inspect the pins for corrosion, moisture, or pushed-out terminals.

  4. Test the continuity of the shuttle lever switches with a multimeter to ensure the internal contacts for Forward, Neutral, and Reverse are not worn out.

Repair steps

  1. Secure the tractor

Park the tractor on a level surface, engage the parking brake, turn off the engine, and remove the key.

  2. Remove steering column shrouds

Remove the plastic shrouds/cowling surrounding the steering column to expose the switch gear.

  3. Locate the lever

Locate the Forward/Reverse (Power Shuttle) lever on the left side of the column.

  4. Disconnect wiring harness

Disconnect the electrical wiring harness connector from the base of the lever.

  5. Remove mounting hardware

Remove the mounting screws/bolts securing the lever assembly to the steering column bracket.

  6. Install new lever

Remove the old lever and install the new OEM replacement lever.

  7. Secure the new lever

    Fasten the mounting screws securely.

  8. Reconnect wiring harness

Reconnect the electrical harness, ensuring the plug clicks firmly into place.

  9. Verify operation

Turn the ignition key to the ON position and verify that the "N" (Neutral) light behaves normally and the fault code is no longer active (you may need to clear inactive codes via the Dash menu or a diagnostic tool).

  10. Reinstall shrouds

    Reinstall the steering column shrouds.
