00.02.63

Massey Ferguson 00.02.63 – Dash: Internal Issue With Dash Temperature

Issue description

The internal temperature sensor located inside the instrument cluster has detected a temperature that is out of normal operating bounds (overheating), or the internal sensor/circuit board itself has failed and is sending an erratic voltage signal.

Check the cause

  1. Check the tractor cab for extreme greenhouse heating and verify that the HVAC vents behind or around the dash are not blocked

  2. Test the tractor's charging system for an overcharging alternator, which can cause the dash components to overheat

  3. Check for accompanying codes like 00.02.61 or 00.03.32, which may indicate a wiring harness short or a bad ground causing excessive resistance and heat

  4. Disconnect the battery for 15 minutes to reset the dash module. If the code returns immediately upon startup in a cold cab, the internal sensor or board has permanently failed

Repair steps

  1. Disconnect Power

Disconnect the negative battery cable to prevent electrical shorts or CAN BUS spikes.

  2. Remove Trim

Remove the steering column shrouds and the plastic dashboard trim panels surrounding the instrument cluster.

  3. Unmount the Cluster

Remove the retaining screws or bolts holding the dash cluster assembly in the console.

  4. Disconnect Harnesses

Carefully pull the cluster forward and unplug the multi-pin wiring harness connectors from the rear.

  5. Install Replacement

Plug the wiring harnesses into the new instrument cluster and mount it into the console.

  6. Reassemble and Reconnect

Reinstall all trim panels and reconnect the battery.

  7. Dealer Programming

Have an authorized Massey Ferguson dealer connect the AGCO Electronic Diagnostic Tool (EDT) to program the tractor's configuration, hours, and tire sizes into the new dash.
