Massey Ferguson 00.03.33 – Dash: Clutch Pedal Calibration Issue
Issue description
The controller has lost the minimum and maximum position values for the clutch pedal, or the electronic clutch pedal position sensor (potentiometer) is sending a signal voltage that falls outside the expected calibrated range. This typically results in harsh, jumpy clutch engagement or a total loss of drive.

Check the cause
Inspect the clutch pedal assembly for excessive free play, worn bushings, or mechanical binding that could prevent the pedal from fully returning to the top position.
Check the wiring harness and the plug connected to the clutch pedal potentiometer and the bottom-of-clutch switch for corrosion, moisture, or loose pins.
Ensure the transmission oil is up to operating temperature (between 35°C/95°F and 50°C/122°F) as calibrations will fail or set codes if the oil is too cold.
Repair steps
Prepare the Tractor
Park the tractor on flat ground. Engage the handbrake, place the forward/reverse shuttle lever in the Neutral (N) position, and ensure the PTO is disengaged.
Warm Up the Transmission
Run the tractor until the transmission gear oil reaches at least 35°C–50°C. You can check this via the diagnostic screen on the Dash Control Center.
Enter the Service Menu
With the engine running at idle, enter the Dash service menu (typically accessed by holding the 'A' or Enter button on the dash panel until the menu appears).
Select Clutch Calibration
Use the arrow buttons to navigate the menu and select 'Clutch Pedal Calibration'.
Perform the Calibration
Follow the on-screen prompts. You will be required to fully depress the clutch pedal to the floor and release it so the Dash controller can learn the new minimum and maximum potentiometer voltage limits.
Save and Test
Once the dash confirms a successful calibration, exit the menu, turn the tractor off to save the settings, and restart it. Test the tractor by shifting from forward to reverse to ensure smooth engagement.
Part Replacement
If the calibration repeatedly fails or the code immediately returns, the clutch pedal potentiometer or the bottom clutch switch has internally failed and must be replaced. After installing the new sensor, repeat steps 1–6.
