00.03.3B

Massey Ferguson 00.03.3B – Dash: Issue With The Signal Voltage From Forward/Reverse Lever, High Voltage

Issue description

The controller is receiving a voltage signal from the Forward/Reverse lever (Power Control lever or shuttle lever) that exceeds the expected maximum threshold. This indicates an open circuit, a short to a higher voltage source (like a 12V power wire), or an internal failure of the switches/sensors inside the lever assembly itself.

Check the cause

  1. Inspect the wiring harness connecting the Forward/Reverse lever to the Dash controller for chafed wires, pinched harnesses within the steering column, or broken connections.

  2. Disconnect the electrical connector at the base of the Forward/Reverse lever and check for bent pins, corrosion, or moisture that could be bridging the signal wire to a power wire.

  3. Use a multimeter to test the signal wire between the lever and the Dash module for a short to power (causing the high voltage) or an open circuit (infinite resistance).

  4. If the wiring harness and connectors are in good condition, conclude that the internal circuitry of the Forward/Reverse lever has failed.

Repair steps

  1. Park the tractor

Park the tractor on a level surface, engage the parking brake, and turn off the engine.

  2. Disconnect the battery

Disconnect the negative battery cable to prevent electrical shorts during the repair.

  3. Remove steering column covers

Remove the plastic shrouds and trim covers surrounding the steering column to expose the base of the Forward/Reverse (Power Control) lever.

  4. Disconnect wiring harness

Locate and carefully disconnect the electrical wiring harness connector attached to the lever assembly.

  5. Remove mounting hardware

Remove the mounting screws or bolts securing the lever to the steering column bracket.

  6. Remove faulty lever

    Remove the faulty lever assembly.

  7. Install new lever

Mount the new Forward/Reverse lever assembly into place and secure it with the mounting hardware.

  8. Reconnect wiring harness

Reconnect the electrical wiring harness connector, ensuring it clicks securely into place.

  9. Reinstall covers

Reinstall the steering column shrouds and trim covers.

  10. Reconnect battery

    Reconnect the negative battery cable.

  11. Verify repair

Turn the ignition on and verify that the fault code has cleared from the Dash. Test the forward, neutral, and reverse shuttle functions to ensure proper operation.
