00.03.3C

Massey Ferguson 00.03.3C – Dash: Issue With The Signal Voltage From Forward/Reverse Lever, Low Voltage (Dash)

Issue description

Controller is receiving a voltage signal from the Power Shuttle (Forward/Reverse) lever that has dropped below the minimum expected threshold. This is typically caused by a short to ground in the wiring, a failing internal potentiometer/switch inside the lever assembly, or a general low-voltage condition in the tractor's electrical system.

Check the cause

  1. Check system voltage to verify the battery and alternator are providing proper voltage (around 12.6V resting, 13.5V-14.5V running). A system-wide low voltage drop can trigger this code.

  2. Remove the steering column covers and inspect the wiring pigtail leading from the Forward/Reverse lever to the Dash module. Look for chafed wires shorting against the metal steering column.

  3. Disconnect the shuttle lever plug and check the connector for bent pins, moisture, or corrosion.

  4. Using a multimeter, test the voltage output on the signal wire from the lever while moving it through Forward, Neutral, and Reverse. If the voltage drops out or reads near zero unexpectedly, the internal contacts are worn out.

Repair steps

  1. Disconnect Power

Disconnect the negative battery cable to prevent electrical shorts while working near the Dash module.

  2. Remove Console Covers

Unscrew and remove the plastic steering column/console covers to gain access to the base of the shuttle lever.

  3. Disconnect Wiring

Locate the electrical connector at the base of the Forward/Reverse lever pigtail and unplug it from the main harness.

  4. Remove the Lever

Remove the mounting screws or bolts securing the shuttle lever assembly to the steering column bracket.

  5. Install the New Part

Mount the replacement lever, ensuring the detent action feels crisp. Reinstall the mounting screws.

  6. Reconnect and Reassemble

Plug the electrical connector back in, reassemble the steering column covers, and reconnect the battery.

  7. Test

Start the tractor, clear the inactive 00.03.3C fault code from the Dash, and verify that the tractor engages Forward, Neutral, and Reverse smoothly without throwing a new code.
