Communication failure on the Controller Area Network (CAN) bus specifically involving the dashboard/instrument cluster. The system is either failing to receive expected data packets from the dash, or the dash is failing to process messages from other modules.

   Verify battery health and clean the main chassis grounds to rule out low voltage during cranking or poor ground integrity.

   Check for aftermarket equipment interference (e.g., GPS, auto-steering controllers, or implement monitors) spliced into the CAN bus and disconnect them temporarily.

   Inspect the wiring harness leading up the steering column to the dash for rub points, pinched wires, or shorts to ground.

   With the battery disconnected, measure the resistance across the CAN High and CAN Low pins at the diagnostic port (should read approximately 60 ohms).

   Disconnect Power

   Disconnect the negative battery terminal to prevent electrical shorts during disassembly.

   Access the Dash

   Remove the steering column shrouds and the retaining screws holding the instrument cluster bezel in place.

   Inspect Connectors

   Carefully pull the dash panel forward and disconnect the main wiring harness connectors.

   Clean and Reseat

   Inspect the pins on both the dash and the harness side for corrosion, moisture, or pushed-out terminals. Clean with electronic contact cleaner, apply a light amount of dielectric grease, and firmly reseat the connectors.

   Repair Wiring (If Applicable)

   If you found rubbed or broken CAN wires (usually a twisted pair) during your diagnostic checks, cut out the damaged section and solder/heat-shrink a new twisted pair of wires.

   Replace the Dash

   If the wiring is intact, the connectors are clean, and aftermarket interference has been ruled out, the internal CAN transceiver inside the instrument cluster has likely failed. The dash panel assembly must be replaced.

   Clear Codes

   Reconnect the battery, turn the key to the ON position, and use an AGCO-compatible diagnostic tool to clear the inactive 00.03.44 code.
