Massey Ferguson 00.03.46 – Dash (Instrument Panel): Clutch Pedal Top Clutch pedal Switch Open
Issue description
The electrical circuit for the top clutch pedal switch is reading an open circuit. This condition is typically caused by a disconnected wiring harness, a broken wire, or an internal failure of the switch itself (stuck open).

Check the cause
Locate the clutch pedal switch assembly in the pedal box and inspect the electrical connector to ensure it is securely plugged in and free of dirt or corrosion.
Trace the wiring from the clutch pedal switch up to the Dash module, looking for any chafing, pinched wires, or breaks that would cause an open circuit.
Using a multimeter, test the switch for continuity. Actuate the clutch pedal to see if the switch transitions properly between open and closed states. If it reads 'open' regardless of pedal position, the switch has failed internally.
Repair steps
Safety First
Turn off the tractor, remove the key, and disconnect the battery to prevent electrical shorts.
Access the Pedal Box
Remove any lower dash or floor trim panels necessary to fully access the clutch pedal linkage and pedal box.
Remove the Faulty Switch
Disconnect the electrical spade/plug connector from the top clutch pedal switch. Unscrew the retaining nuts (often a threaded body with an M14 x 1.5 thread) or unclip the switch from its mounting bracket.
Install the New Switch
Thread or clip the new OEM switch into the exact same position.
Reconnect and Reassemble
Plug the electrical connector back in and reassemble the pedal box trim. Reconnect the battery.
Test and Calibrate
Turn the key on and test the clutch pedal. If you experience harsh or jumpy clutch engagement after replacement, a clutch pedal sensor calibration via the dash menu or dealer diagnostic tool may be required.
