Massey Ferguson 00.1.34 – Dash: Issue With Signal Voltage From Foot Throttle Sensor (Dash)

The control module is receiving an erratic, out-of-range, or missing electrical voltage signal from the potentiometer/sensor attached to the foot throttle pedal.

   Inspect the wiring harness routing from the foot throttle pedal to the Dash controller for areas where heat, moisture, or vibration may have caused corrosion or chafing.

   Disconnect the foot throttle sensor and inspect the connector pins for corrosion or loose contacts that could interrupt voltage flow.

   Test the ground circuit to ensure there are no broken or loose ground wires causing fluctuating throttle output.

   Use a multimeter to verify continuity and resistance on the signal, 5V reference, and ground circuits between the sensor connector and the Dash module.

   Perform a sweep test on the sensor by monitoring voltage output while slowly pressing the pedal, looking for dead spots or erratic voltage drops that indicate internal wear.

   Disconnect Power

   Turn off the tractor and disconnect the battery to prevent electrical shorts during repair.

   Expose the Pedal Assembly

   Remove any lower dash or floor trim panels required to access the foot throttle pedal assembly and its sensor.

   Repair Wiring

   If the diagnostic checks revealed corroded pins or broken wires, repair the harness or replace the connector pigtail.

   Replace the Sensor

   If the sensor failed the sweep test, unbolt the faulty throttle position sensor from the pedal assembly. Install the new OEM sensor and secure the mounting hardware.

   Reconnect and Reassemble

   Plug the electrical connector back into the sensor, ensuring the locking tab clicks into place. Reinstall any removed trim panels.

   Clear Codes and Calibrate

   Reconnect the battery. Use a diagnostic service tool or the Dash Control Center diagnostic screens to clear the 00.1.34 fault code. Depending on the specific tractor model, a throttle pedal calibration routine may need to be performed so the Dash module learns the new 0% and 100% voltage limits.
