Massey Ferguson 00.1.3D – Dash: Issue With The Signal Voltage From Forward/Reverse Lever Signal Voltage High
Issue description
The controller is detecting an abnormally high voltage signal from the Forward/Reverse (Power Shuttle) lever switch on the steering column. This typically indicates a short to power in the wiring harness, a failed internal resistor in the switch, or internal voltage leakage where the switch sends voltage on multiple directional circuits simultaneously.

Check the cause
Verify the tractor's battery is fully charged (approx. 12.6V) and the alternator is not overcharging, as system-wide voltage spikes can trigger high-voltage sensor codes.
Remove the steering column covers and inspect the wiring pigtail leading to the Forward/Reverse lever. Look for chafed wires shorting to a 12V power source.
Using a multimeter, back-probe the switch connector. Check if the switch is leaking voltage to the neutral or opposite-direction pins when engaged (e.g., showing voltage on both the Forward and Reverse circuits simultaneously). If it is bleeding voltage across circuits, the switch has failed internally.
Disconnect the lever and check for water intrusion, corrosion, or bent pins inside the connector, which can bridge the power supply pin to the signal pin.
Repair steps
Disconnect Power
Disconnect the negative battery cable to prevent accidental shorts or module damage during repair.
Access the Switch
Remove the plastic console/cowl covers surrounding the steering column to expose the base of the shuttle lever mechanism.
Disconnect the Harness
Unplug the electrical connector from the base of the Forward/Reverse lever switch.
Remove the Lever
Remove the retaining screws or bolts holding the lever assembly (wobble drive) to the steering column bracket.
Clean and Inspect
Clean any dirt or grease buildup around the mounting area. Inspect the downstream linkage/bushings (if applicable to your specific model year) for excessive play.
Install the New Part
Mount the new Forward/Reverse lever assembly and tighten the retaining screws.
Reassemble
Reconnect the electrical harness, ensuring the plug clicks securely into place. Reinstall the steering column covers.
Test
Reconnect the battery. Turn the key to the ON position and verify the Dash no longer displays the 00.1.3D fault code. Start the tractor and test forward, neutral, and reverse engagements.
