Massey Ferguson 00.1.5F – Dash: Issue With Voltage From Navigation Buttons (Dash)

The dashboard module is receiving an electrical signal (voltage) from the dash navigation/menu buttons that falls outside the expected parameters (either too high, too low, or an open/short circuit).

   Verify the tractor's overall electrical health. A weak battery or failing alternator can cause erratic dash voltages (battery should read ~12.6V resting and 14.0V–14.4V while running).

   Physically inspect the navigation buttons on the dash console. Check if any buttons are physically stuck, jammed by debris, or damaged.

   Remove the dash trim and inspect the wiring harness connecting the navigation buttons to the main instrument cluster. Look for pinched wires, chafing, or corroded connector pins.

   Back-probe the connector for the navigation buttons. Check for a consistent reference voltage (often 5V or 9.5V from the dash) and verify that the signal voltage changes smoothly when the buttons are pressed.

   Disconnect Power

   Always disconnect the negative battery terminal before working on the tractor's sensitive CAN BUS and dash electronics.

   Access the Dash Console

   Remove the retaining screws holding the steering column cowl and the instrument cluster trim panel.

   Remove the Switch Assembly

   Carefully pry or unbolt the navigation button module from the dashboard housing.

   Disconnect the Harness

   Unplug the electrical connector from the back of the button assembly. Apply dielectric grease to the new connector to prevent future moisture corrosion.

   Install the New Part

   Connect the replacement navigation button switch or instrument panel, and snap/bolt it back into the dash housing.

   Reassemble and Clear Codes

   Reinstall all trim pieces, reconnect the battery, turn the ignition to the ON position, and use a diagnostic scan tool to clear the 00.1.5F inactive code. Test the buttons to ensure the dash menus navigate correctly.
