Massey Ferguson 00.1.70 – Dash Module: Dash Module Is Missing Information From The Linkage Module On The CAN BUS System (Dash).

The CAN BUS communication network has lost the data signal between the tractor's Linkage Module (which controls the rear hitch/linkage) and the Dashboard display. This means the dash is unable to display linkage status, or the linkage module has stopped broadcasting its status over the network.

   Verify battery voltage and alternator charging output. Low voltage or voltage spikes can cause CAN BUS modules to drop offline.

   Inspect the CAN BUS twisted-pair wiring between the Dash Module and the Linkage Module. Look for chafed wires, pinch points, or rodent damage.

   Check the wiring harness connectors at both the Dash Module and the Linkage Module. Look for loose pins, pushed-out terminals, moisture ingress, or corrosion.

   Use the Massey Ferguson EDT (Electronic Diagnostic Tool) with a CANBOX interface (connected to the diagnostic plug on the front left side of the dashboard) to check if the Linkage Module is communicating at all, or if it has logged its own internal faults.

   Disconnect Power

   Disconnect the tractor's battery negative terminal before working on the CAN BUS system to prevent short circuits.

   Clean and Reseat Connectors

   Disconnect the harnesses at the Dash Module and the Linkage Module. Apply electrical contact cleaner to the pins and carefully reseat the connectors, ensuring they click and lock into place.

   Repair Wiring (If Applicable)

   If the CAN BUS wiring is damaged, cut out the damaged section and solder in new twisted-pair wiring, sealing it with heat-shrink tubing.

   Module Replacement

   If the wiring and power/ground supplies to the Linkage Module are intact but it still will not communicate with the Dash, the Linkage Module has likely failed and must be replaced.

   Reprogramming

   If a new Linkage Module or Dash Module is installed, connect the Massey Ferguson EDT diagnostic tool. You will need to configure the module parameters and perform a "Run" writing process to set the label codes so the modules recognize each other on the network.

   Clear Codes

   Reconnect the battery, turn the key to the ON position, and use the EDT tool to clear the 00.1.70 fault code. Test the rear linkage operation to ensure the dash registers the movement.
