00.2.35

Massey Ferguson 00.2.35 – Dash: Issue With The Signal Voltage From Forward/Reverse Lever (Dash)

Issue description

This code indicates that the control module is receiving an erratic, missing, or out-of-range electrical voltage signal from the forward/reverse shuttle lever (often referred to as the Power Control Lever or Dynashift lever) located on the steering column.

Check the cause

  1. Verify that the shuttle lever is receiving its required 5V reference voltage from the Dash module using a multimeter.

  2. Inspect the wiring harness and connectors between the forward/reverse lever and the dashboard for chafed wires, loose pins, or corrosion.

  3. Test the output voltage from the lever while moving it through Forward, Neutral, and Reverse positions to check for voltage drops or spikes indicating worn internal contacts.

  4. Check if the lever feels physically loose, as worn detents or a failing integrated brake mechanism can cause the lever to rest between contact points.

Repair steps

  1. Disconnect Power

Disconnect the tractor's battery to prevent electrical shorts during the repair.

  2. Access the Lever

Remove the plastic steering column cowling/trim panels to expose the base of the forward/reverse shuttle lever.

  3. Disconnect Wiring

Unplug the electrical harness connector attached to the base of the lever.

  4. Remove the Lever

Unbolt the mounting screws securing the shuttle lever assembly to the steering column and remove the faulty unit.

  5. Install New Part

Mount the new forward/reverse lever, secure the bolts, and plug in the electrical connector.

  6. Reassembly

Reinstall the steering column trim panels and reconnect the battery.

  7. Clear Codes

Turn the ignition on, navigate to the tractor's diagnostic menu (or use a diagnostic tool), and select 'Clear Codes' to erase the 00.2.35 fault.

  8. Verify Repair

Start the tractor and test the forward and reverse engagement to ensure the issue is resolved and the code does not return.
