00.2.37

Massey Ferguson 00.2.37 – Dash Module: Issue With Signal Voltage From Clutch Pedal Sensor

Issue description

The controller is receiving an erratic, out-of-range, or missing voltage signal from the clutch pedal potentiometer, which tracks the physical position of the clutch pedal.

Check the cause

  1. Inspect the clutch pedal sensor (potentiometer) on the clutch pedal linkage for physical damage to the sensor fork or housing.

  2. Check the wiring harness and electrical connector going to the sensor for corrosion, frayed wires, or loose pins.

  3. Perform a voltage sweep test by back-probing the sensor with a multimeter. Slowly depress and release the clutch pedal to ensure voltage changes smoothly without dropouts or spikes.

  4. Attempt to run the clutch pedal calibration procedure via the tractor's dash diagnostic menu to rule out a missing calibration or jumpy clutch.

Repair steps

  1. Preparation

Park the tractor on a flat surface, engage the parking brake, and turn off the engine. Disconnect the battery to prevent electrical shorts.

  2. Removal

Locate the clutch pedal potentiometer on the clutch pedal assembly. Disconnect the electrical connector.

  3. Dismount

Remove the mounting hardware (usually small screws or bolts) holding the sensor in place and remove the faulty sensor.

  4. Installation

Install the new clutch pedal sensor, ensuring the fork/linkage aligns correctly with the pedal mechanism. Secure it with the mounting hardware.

  5. Reconnect

Plug the electrical connector back into the sensor and reconnect the battery.

  6. Calibration

Turn the key on and enter the service/diagnostic menu on the dash display (usually by holding the 'A' or 'OK' button). Navigate to the 'Calibration' menu and select 'Clutch Pedal Calibration'. Follow the on-screen prompts, which will require you to fully depress and fully release the clutch pedal. The screen will confirm a successful calibration. Turn the key off to save the settings.
