Issue description
The control module is receiving a voltage signal from the clutch pedal position sensor (potentiometer or transducer) that exceeds the expected maximum threshold. This condition is typically caused by an internal short within the sensor, a wiring harness short-to-power, a broken ground circuit, or a completely failed sensor. Symptoms often include a harsh/jumpy clutch engagement, erratic shifting, loss of drive after depressing the pedal, or safety systems (like the PTO) failing to engage.

Check the cause
Inspect the wiring harness and connector at the clutch pedal box for chafed wires, pinched harnesses, or corrosion that could cause a short-to-power or loss of ground.
Back-probe the sensor connector with a multimeter to verify a 5V reference voltage and solid ground, and check if the signal return wire is stuck at a high voltage.
Inspect the Bottom of Clutch (BOC) switch in the pedal box to see if it is physically sticking or damaged.
Attempt a clutch pedal calibration via the tractor's terminal; if rejected due to out-of-range voltage, the sensor is definitively faulty.
Repair steps
Access the Pedal Box
Park the tractor on a level surface, turn off the ignition, and remove the key. Locate the clutch pedal assembly inside the cab.
Disconnect Electronics
Carefully unplug the electrical connector from the clutch pedal position sensor (and the BOC switch, if replacing both).
Remove the Sensor
Unbolt the mounting hardware securing the sensor/potentiometer to the pedal linkage.
Install the New Part
Mount the new sensor into the exact same position on the pedal bracket. Ensure the mechanical linkage or fork aligns correctly with the sensor's actuator. Tighten the mounting screws.
Reconnect
Plug the wiring harness back into the new sensor.
Calibrate
Crucial Step — You must perform a clutch calibration procedure. This teaches the Dash and Transmission modules the new minimum (pedal up) and maximum (pedal down) voltage values of the new sensor.
