Massey Ferguson 00.2.3B – Dash: Issue With The Signal Voltage From Forward/Reverse Lever Signal Voltage High (Dash)

The system is detecting that the electrical signal voltage coming from the Forward/Reverse Lever (commonly known as the Power Shuttle Lever) is higher than the expected normal operating range. This typically indicates a short to power in the wiring harness, a failed internal contact within the lever switch, or an open ground circuit causing the signal voltage to float high.

   Remove the steering column covers and visually inspect the wiring harness and connector at the Forward/Reverse lever for pinched wires, chafing, or corrosion.

   Use a multimeter to check the signal wire between the lever switch and the Dash ECU for a short to a 12V power source.

   Verify the ground circuit for the lever switch is intact, as an open ground can cause the signal voltage to read artificially high.

   Test the internal resistance and continuity of the Forward/Reverse lever switch across its positions (Forward, Neutral, Reverse). If it fails to show proper continuity changes or is internally shorted, the lever assembly must be replaced.

   Disconnect Power

   Disconnect the tractor's battery to prevent electrical shorts during the repair.

   Access the Switch

   Remove the plastic steering column shrouds/covers to expose the base of the Forward/Reverse lever.

   Disconnect Wiring

   Unplug the electrical connector from the lever switch.

   Remove the Lever

   Remove the mounting screws or retaining hardware securing the lever assembly to the steering column.

   Install New Part

   Position the new Power Shuttle Lever into the column and secure it with the mounting hardware.

   Reconnect

   Plug the electrical connector into the new switch and ensure it clicks securely into place.

   Reassembly

   Reinstall the steering column covers.

   Test Operation

   Reconnect the battery. Turn the key on and verify that the 00.2.3B fault code has cleared from the Dash display. Start the tractor and test forward, neutral, and reverse engagements to ensure smooth directional control is restored.
