Massey Ferguson 00.2.3D – Dash: Issue With The Signal Voltage From Forward/Reverse Lever Signal Voltage High

The controller is receiving a voltage reading from the Power Shuttle (Forward/Reverse) lever circuit that exceeds the expected normal operating range. This typically indicates a short to power in the wiring harness, a disconnected plug, or an internal failure of the electrical switches inside the shuttle lever itself.

   Use the display panel on the dash to enter diagnostic mode and verify if the code is currently active or stored in history.

   Remove the steering column covers and inspect the wiring harness leading to the Forward/Reverse lever. Look for chafed wires, pinched harnesses, or exposed copper that could be shorting to a 12V power source.

   Disconnect the plug at the lever and check for corrosion, bent pins, or moisture ingress which can bridge connections and cause high voltage readings.

   If the wiring is intact and shows no shorts to power, test the lever itself as the internal potentiometer or switches have likely failed.

   Preparation

   Park the tractor on a level surface, engage the parking brake, turn off the engine, and disconnect the negative battery terminal.

   Access the Lever

   Remove the plastic shrouds/covers surrounding the steering column to expose the base of the Power Shuttle lever.

   Removal

   Disconnect the electrical connector from the lever assembly. Unbolt the retaining screws/bolts holding the lever to the steering column and remove the faulty unit.

   Installation

   Mount the new OEM Forward/Reverse lever and secure the hardware. Reconnect the electrical plug.

   Reassembly

   Reinstall the steering column covers and reconnect the battery.

   Transmission Calibration

   Warm-up the transmission by moving the reverse shuttle 10 times in each direction (leaving the lever in each position for 5 to 10 seconds). Then run the automatic transmission calibration via the dash display (Note: error 4.X.A2 may briefly display at the end of calibration, which is normal).
