Massey Ferguson 00.2.3E – Dash: Issue With The Signal Voltage From Forward/Reverse Lever Signal Voltage Low (Dash)

The electrical signal coming from the Forward/Reverse shuttle lever (Power Shuttle Lever) has dropped below the expected voltage threshold. This is typically caused by worn internal electrical contacts inside the lever switch, a damaged wiring harness, or a loose connector.

   Check the shuttle lever for excessive physical play or 'sloppiness'. If the lever lacks a crisp, positive detent feel when moving between Forward, Neutral, and Reverse, the internal contacts are likely failing.

   Remove the steering column/console covers to access the base of the lever and inspect the 12V cable and plug connector for corrosion, backed-out pins, or wire chafing.

   Back-probe the connector to verify if the voltage drop is occurring at the switch itself or if there is a wiring issue between the switch and the Dash module.

   Access the Switch

   Remove the steering column cowlings/console covers to gain access to the base of the Forward/Reverse lever assembly.

   Disconnect Power

   Turn off the tractor and disconnect the battery to prevent electrical shorts.

   Unplug the Harness

   Disconnect the electrical cable and plug from the base of the shuttle lever.

   Remove the Lever

   Remove the mounting screws/hardware securing the lever to the column.

   Inspect Linkage

   While the lever is removed, inspect the linkage and bushings below it. A new lever will not fix worn downstream components.

   Install New Lever

   Mount the new Forward/Reverse lever switch assembly and secure it with the fixing screws. Clean and lubricate any mechanical pivot points during assembly.

   Reconnect and Test

   Plug the electrical connector back in, reconnect the battery, and test the tractor's directional engagement before reinstalling the console covers.
