Massey Ferguson 00.2.5F – Dash Module: Issue With Voltage From Navigation Buttons (Dash)

The module detects an incorrect, erratic, or out-of-range voltage signal coming from the navigation buttons (rocker switches) used to scroll through the menus on the central LCD display, indicating a short, an open circuit, or a stuck switch.

   Check the navigation buttons on the dash for physical damage, sticking, or debris (a stuck button sends a continuous voltage signal).

   Verify system voltage by testing the battery (~12.6V off) and alternator charging voltage (14.0–14.4V running) to rule out voltage spikes causing misreads.

   Inspect the wiring harness and connectors behind the instrument panel for loose pins, chafed wires, or corrosion.

   Back-probe the connector for the navigation buttons with a multimeter to verify if the voltage changes correctly when the buttons are pressed and released.

   Disconnect Power

   Turn off the ignition and disconnect the negative battery cable to prevent electrical shorts during the repair.

   Access the Dash Panel

   Remove the retaining screws and plastic trim pieces surrounding the steering column and instrument cluster to gain access to the rear of the dash panel.

   Disconnect the Harness

   Carefully unplug the wiring harness connector(s) leading to the navigation button assembly and the main instrument cluster.

   Replace the Faulty Component

   If the wiring harness is damaged, repair the broken wires or replace the affected loom section. If the switch itself has failed (and is a standalone component), pop the old switch out of the bezel and snap the new one into place. Note: If the buttons are integrated directly into the instrument panel or the side control panel and cannot be separated, the panel assembly must be replaced.

   Reassembly

   Reconnect the wiring harnesses, ensuring the clips lock securely into place. Reinstall the dash trim and steering column covers.

   Test and Clear Codes

   Reconnect the battery. Turn the ignition on and use a diagnostic scan tool (or the dash interface, if accessible) to clear the 00.2.5F fault code. Test the navigation buttons to ensure you can scroll through the central LCD menus without issue.
