Massey Ferguson 00.2.73 – Dash Module: Dash Module Has Noted An Issue With The Transmission Lubrication Pressure (Dash)

The transmission lubrication pressure switch (X493) has detected that the hydraulic pressure in the transmission lubrication circuit has dropped below or exceeded normal operating parameters. The signal is sent to the dashboard, triggering the warning.

   Check Fluid Levels & Temperature: Ensure the transmission oil is at the correct level and the oil temperature is within the normal working range before performing pressure tests.

   Verify Mechanical Pressure: Install a hydraulic pressure tester gauge to the transmission lubrication check nipple (located on the transmission valve block). Keep the directional lever in Neutral and measure the transmission lubrication pressure at high idle to determine if the issue is a genuine loss of pressure or a faulty sensor.

   Inspect the Sensor and Wiring: Locate the transmission lubrication pressure switch (X493). Check the electrical connector for corrosion, loose pins, or oil intrusion. Test the continuity of the wiring harness from the sensor back to the Dash Module.

   Check for Filter Blockage: A restricted hydraulic filter can cause a drop in lubrication pressure. Check if the dash is also throwing code 00.2.74 (Transmission Filter Blocked Sensor), which would point directly to a clogged filter.

   Secure the Tractor

   Park on a level surface, engage the parking brake, and turn off the engine.

   Top Up Fluids

   If the transmission fluid is low, top it up with the OEM-recommended fluid (Massey Ferguson Permatran 821XL Semi-Synthetic) and re-test.

   Replace the Filter (If pressure is mechanically low)

   If the mechanical gauge shows low pressure, drain the transmission fluid and replace the main transmission hydraulic filter element and the suction filter O-ring. Clean the hydraulic filter screen.

   Replace the Pressure Switch (If mechanical pressure is good)

   If the mechanical gauge shows normal pressure but the dash still reads a fault, the sensor has failed. Disconnect the wiring harness, unthread the old pressure switch from the valve block, and install the new OEM pressure switch.

   Clear Codes

   Reconnect the battery/harness, turn the key to the ON position, and clear the stored fault codes from the Dash Module.

   Test Drive

   Start the tractor, bring it to operating temperature, and verify that the transmission lubrication pressure warning does not return.
