Massey Ferguson 00.X.34 – Dash: Issue With Signal Voltage From Foot Throttle Sensor (Dash)

This indicates that the electronic signal voltage coming from the foot throttle potentiometer (accelerator pedal) is either out of the expected range (too high/too low), implausible, or completely missing.

   Inspect the electrical connector at the foot throttle sensor (located at the base of the accelerator pedal in the cab) for corrosion, moisture, bent pins, or loose connections.

   Test the wiring harness between the foot throttle sensor and the Dash ECU for continuity. Check for any shorts to ground or shorts to power.

   Using a digital multimeter, measure the voltage or resistance output of the foot pedal potentiometer while slowly sweeping it from the idle position to full throttle. The reading should change smoothly and linearly. If the voltage drops out, spikes, or shows dead spots during the sweep, the sensor is internally faulty and must be replaced.

   Power down

   Turn off the tractor ignition and disconnect the battery to prevent electrical shorts.

   Locate the sensor

   Locate the foot throttle sensor assembly at the base of the accelerator pedal inside the cab.

   Disconnect sensor

   Unplug the electrical wiring harness connector from the sensor.

   Remove faulty sensor

   Unbolt the mounting screws/hardware securing the sensor or the pedal assembly to the floor bracket and remove the faulty unit.

   Install new sensor

   Mount the new foot throttle sensor/pedal assembly and tighten the hardware.

   Reconnect

   Plug the electrical connector back into the new sensor and reconnect the battery.

   Calibrate and clear codes

   Turn the ignition key on. Clear the stored fault codes. Depending on the exact model configuration, you may need to perform a pedal calibration via the tractor's SIS (System Information Screen) or using a dealer diagnostic tool to ensure the Dash ECU recognizes the new sensor's minimum and maximum voltage limits.
