00.X.35

Massey Ferguson 00.X.35 – Dash: Issue With The Signal Voltage From Forward/Reverse Lever

Issue description

The controller is detecting an incorrect, missing, or out-of-range electrical voltage signal from the Power Shuttle (Forward/Reverse) lever. This typically prevents the tractor from shifting into forward or reverse, or causes harsh/delayed engagement, as the system cannot verify the operator's directional command.

Check the cause

  1. Verify the tractor's battery is fully charged (around 12.6V), as low system voltage can cause the Dash to misread sensor signals.

  2. Remove the steering column covers and inspect the wiring harness leading to the Forward/Reverse lever for chafed wires, loose pins, or water ingress/corrosion inside the connector.

  3. Back-probe the connector to verify the voltage output in the Forward, Neutral, and Reverse positions. Erratic or dead voltage in one position indicates failed internal electrical contacts.

  4. If the switch tests fine, inspect the Power Shuttle Control Unit for moisture or corrosion, which can cause inconsistent shifting and signal codes.

Repair steps

  1. Disconnect Power

Disconnect the tractor's battery to prevent electrical shorts during the repair.

  2. Access the Switch

Remove the plastic console/steering column covers to expose the base of the shuttle lever.

  3. Remove the Faulty Lever

Unplug the electrical cable connector from the switch. Remove the mounting screws holding the lever assembly to the steering column.

  4. Install the New Part

Mount the new Forward/Reverse lever and secure it with the screws. Reconnect the electrical plug.

  5. Reassembly

Reinstall the steering column covers and reconnect the battery.

  6. Transmission Calibration

Bring the transmission up to operating temperature. Start the engine at 1500 rpm. Engage the power shuttle and differential lock for 3 seconds. Shift the power shuttle lever to initiate the automatic 2-minute calibration process. Validate by performing forward and reverse maneuvers to ensure smooth shifting.
