Massey Ferguson 00.X.39 – Dash: Issue With Signal Voltage From Clutch Pedal Sensor, High Voltage (Dash)

The control module is receiving a voltage signal from the clutch pedal position sensor (potentiometer/transducer) that exceeds the expected maximum threshold. This condition is typically caused by a short to power in the sensor's signal wire, an open ground circuit in the sensor harness, or an internal failure of the clutch pedal potentiometer itself.

   Inspect the clutch pedal sensor and its linkage/fork for physical damage or binding.

   Trace the wiring harness from the clutch pedal sensor to the Dash module, looking for chafing, pinched wires, or rub points that could cause a short to power.

   Disconnect the sensor and inspect the pins for corrosion, water ingress, or bent terminals.

   Using a multimeter, verify that the sensor is receiving the correct reference voltage (usually 5V) and has a solid, low-resistance ground (an open ground will cause the signal voltage to read high).

   Power Down

   Turn off the tractor and disconnect the battery to prevent electrical spikes.

   Locate the Sensor

   Locate the clutch pedal position sensor (potentiometer) mounted on the clutch pedal assembly in the cab.

   Remove the Sensor

   Disconnect the electrical connector. Remove the mounting hardware and carefully detach the sensor from the pedal linkage/fork.

   Install the New Sensor

   Mount the new OEM sensor, ensuring the linkage aligns correctly with the pedal mechanism. Secure the mounting hardware and plug in the electrical connector.

   Reconnect Power

   Reconnect the battery.

   Mandatory Calibration

   Carry out a clutch pedal sensor calibration via the tractor's dash menu or a dealer diagnostic tool to teach the Dash module the new minimum and maximum voltage values for the pedal's travel.
