Massey Ferguson 00.X.3B – Dash: Issue With The Signal Voltage From Forward/Reverse Lever, High Voltage (Dash)

The control module is receiving an electrical signal from the Forward/Reverse (Power Shuttle) lever switch that exceeds the expected voltage range. This condition is typically caused by a short to power in the wiring harness, an open circuit (if the system defaults to a high-voltage pull-up state when disconnected), a damaged connector, or an internal failure of the lever's electrical switch.

   Remove the steering column/console covers and visually inspect the wiring harness for chafing, pinched wires, or exposed copper that could cause a short to power.

   Disconnect the plug at the lever switch and check for dirt, moisture, or corroded pins.

   With a multimeter, verify the voltage at the harness connector (key ON) to ensure the Dash module is sending the correct reference voltage.

   Test the switch for continuity across its terminals while moving the lever through Forward, Neutral, and Reverse. If it shows infinite resistance when it should be closed, the switch is faulty.

   If the switch tests fine, check the signal wire between the lever connector and the Dash module for a short to a 12V power source.

   Power Down

   Turn off the ignition and disconnect the negative battery cable to prevent electrical spikes.

   Access the Switch

   Remove the plastic cowling/covers surrounding the steering column to expose the shuttle lever assembly.

   Disconnect

   Unplug the electrical connector from the Forward/Reverse lever switch.

   Remove the Lever

   Remove the mounting screws or retaining bolts holding the lever assembly to the column.

   Install the New Part

   Mount the replacement Forward/Reverse lever/switch assembly and secure the hardware.

   Reassemble

   Reconnect the electrical plug, ensuring it clicks firmly into place. Reinstall the steering column covers.

   Test

   Reconnect the battery. Turn the key ON, clear the fault codes if necessary, and test the shuttle lever in all positions to ensure the Dash module registers the correct directional inputs without throwing the 00.X.3B code.
