   Verify the battery voltage and the power supply to both the EEM and the Dash. Low voltage or a failing alternator can disrupt CAN bus signals.

   Inspect the CAN BUS wiring harness connecting the EEM to the Dash. Look for chafed wires, pinch points, or heat damage.

   Disconnect the harness at the EEM and the Dash. Inspect the pins for corrosion, moisture ingress, or bent terminals.

   With the battery disconnected, use a multimeter to measure the resistance across the CAN High and CAN Low pins. A healthy CAN bus should read approximately 60 ohms. Readings of 120 ohms indicate an open circuit, while a reading near 0 ohms indicates a short circuit.

   Disconnect Power

   Always disconnect the tractor's battery before performing electrical repairs to prevent module damage.

   Clean Connections

   If corrosion is found during the diagnostic checks, thoroughly clean the affected connector pins on both the harness and the modules using a high-quality electrical contact cleaner. Apply dielectric grease before reconnecting.

   Repair/Replace Wiring

   If a break or short is found in the CAN bus wiring, repair the damaged section using proper soldering and heat-shrink techniques. If the harness is heavily damaged, replace the affected wiring harness section entirely.

   Reassemble and Test

   Reconnect all modules and restore battery power.

   Clear Codes

   Connect an AGCO electronic service tool or a compatible diagnostic scanner (like Jaltest) to the diagnostic port. Clear the 00.X.49 fault code.

   Verify Repair

   Cycle the ignition and run the tractor to see if the code returns. If the wiring is 100% intact and the code persists, the EEM or Dash module itself may have an internal CAN transceiver failure, requiring a software re-flash or hardware replacement by an authorized dealer.
