   Determine if other modules are logging lost communication codes with the EEM to isolate if the issue is system-wide or specific to the Dash

   Verify battery voltage and the 9.5V/12V power and ground supplies to both the Dash and the EEM

   Inspect the CAN bus wiring harness between the EEM and the Dash for chafed wires, open circuits, or short circuits to ground/power

   Check the CAN bus connectors at both the EEM and the Dash for bad contacts, pushed-out pins, moisture, or oxidation

   Measure the CAN bus terminating resistance across CAN High and CAN Low with the battery disconnected (should read approximately 60 ohms)

   Disconnect Power

   Disconnect the negative battery cable to ensure safety while working on the electrical system and to prevent shorting the CAN lines.

   Access Modules

   Gain access to the EEM (Engine ECU) and remove the necessary cab trim to access the rear of the Dash instrument cluster.

   Clean and Inspect

   Disconnect the harness connectors at both modules. Clean the pins with electrical contact cleaner and ensure no pins are bent or corroded.

   Perform Continuity Testing

   Using a multimeter, perform end-to-end continuity tests on the CAN High and CAN Low wires between the EEM and the Dash. Repair or replace the wiring harness if an open circuit or high resistance is found.

   Reassemble and Test

   Reconnect all harnesses, reconnect the battery, and clear the fault codes using a diagnostic tool. Start the tractor and monitor the dash.

   Module Replacement

   If the wiring is perfectly intact, terminating resistance is correct, and the code returns, the internal CAN transceiver in the Dash (or EEM) has likely failed. Replace the faulty module. (Note: Replacing the Dash or EEM will require dealer-level software to program the new module to the tractor's specific configuration).
