00.X.70

Massey Ferguson 00.X.70 – Dash Module: Dash Module Is Missing Information From The Linkage Module On The CAN BUS System (Dash)

Issue description

This is a communication error indicating that the tractor's CAN BUS network has lost the data signal between the instrument cluster and the electronic linkage control module (which manages the 3-point hitch/rear linkage).

Applies to these machines

  • 4707
  • 4708
  • 4709
  • 4710
  • T4 (2015-2021)
  • 5608
  • 5609
  • 5610
  • 5611
  • 5612
  • 5613
  • 5710SL
  • 5711SL
  • 5712SL
  • 5713SL
  • 7614 through 7626
  • 7714 through 7726S

Check the cause

  1. Check the main and secondary fuse boxes for blown fuses related to the Linkage Module or the Dash Module.

  2. Trace the CAN BUS wiring (twisted pair) between the Linkage Module and the Dash, looking for chafing, pinched wires, or rodent damage.

  3. Disconnect the harnesses at both the Dash and the Linkage Module to inspect the pins for corrosion, moisture, or pushed-out terminals.

  4. Use a multimeter to ensure the Linkage Module is receiving proper operating voltage and has a clean ground.

  5. Connect an AGCO Electronic Diagnostic Tool (EDT) to see if the Linkage Module is communicating with any other modules (like the Engine ECU or Transmission TCU).

Repair steps

  1. Disconnect Power

Turn off the battery isolator switch or disconnect the negative battery cable to prevent electrical spikes.

  2. Repair Wiring

If a break or short is found in the CAN BUS harness, splice and solder the twisted pair wires, ensuring the twist rate is maintained to prevent electromagnetic interference. Heat-shrink the repair.

  3. Clean Connections

Use electrical contact cleaner on the module plugs and apply dielectric grease before reconnecting.

  4. Replace Faulty Module

If wiring, power, and ground are all verified as good, the Linkage Module (or rarely, the Dash Module) has failed internally. Unbolt the faulty module, disconnect the harness, and install the replacement.

  5. Reprogramming

If a new Linkage Module or Dash Module is installed, an AGCO dealer technician must use the EDT software to flash the correct firmware and calibrate the module to the tractor's specific configuration.

  6. Clear Codes

Reconnect the battery, turn the key to the ON position, and use the diagnostic tool to clear the 00.X.70 code. Test the rear linkage operation to confirm the fix.

Parts you might need

(3)
  • Dash Module / Instrument Cluster

Must be programmed by an AGCO dealer to match tractor hours and configuration.

  • Linkage Control Module (Electronic Lift Control)

Controls the rear 3-point hitch; requires calibration after installation.

  • CAN BUS Wiring Harness / Connectors

Generic AGCO repair pigtails or full harness replacements depending on the severity of wiring damage.
