Massey Ferguson 03.00.19 – MFA (Multifunction Armrest): CAN Bus Message From Joystick Controls On Arm Rest (MFA)

Communication failure on the tractor's Controller Area Network (CAN bus). The control system is either not receiving the expected data packets from the armrest joystick, or the messages being received are corrupted/invalid.

   Open the armrest console and visually inspect the wiring harness connecting the joystick to the MFA module for chafed wires, pinched lines, or broken connections.

   Disconnect the joystick and MFA module connectors to inspect for loose pins, pushed-back terminals, moisture, or corrosion.

   Using a multimeter, check the CAN High and CAN Low lines for proper resistance (typically 60 ohms across the network when powered down) and ensure there are no shorts to ground or shorts to voltage.

   Verify that the joystick assembly is receiving the correct operating voltage and has a solid ground connection.

   Connect a diagnostic tool (such as AGCO EDT or Jaltest) to monitor live data from the MFA module to see if any physical joystick movements register on the network.

   Power Down

   Turn off the tractor and disconnect the battery to prevent electrical shorts during disassembly.

   Access the Components

   Carefully remove the trim and retaining screws on the multifunction armrest to expose the joystick assembly and the MFA module wiring.

   Repair Wiring

   If the diagnostic checks revealed damaged wiring or corroded connector pins, repair or replace the affected harness section.

   Replace Joystick

   If the wiring, power, and CAN lines test good, the internal CAN transceiver inside the joystick has likely failed. Unscrew the joystick mounting bracket, disconnect the harness, and install the new joystick assembly.

   Reassembly

   Reconnect the harness, secure the joystick, and reassemble the armrest console. Reconnect the battery.

   Calibration

   Connect a compatible diagnostic tool (AGCO EDT, Jaltest, etc.). Navigate to the MFA armrest control system and perform the required joystick calibration procedure.

7. 7

   Clear Codes

   Clear the 03.00.19 fault code from the MFA module and test all joystick functions to confirm the repair.
