Massey Ferguson 03.00.96 – TECU: Calibration Issue For Valve Switch 6 (TECU)

The electronic control unit has detected that the calibration values for the auxiliary valve switch 6 are out of the expected range, missing, or corrupted. This prevents the controller from accurately determining the switch's position, which can disable or limit the functionality of the associated hydraulic auxiliary valve.

   Check for related fault codes 03.00.94 (High Amp Draw On Auxiliary Valve Switch 6) or 03.00.95 (High Voltage On Auxiliary Valve Switch 6). If these are present, you have a hard electrical fault rather than just a calibration issue.

   Inspect the wiring harness and connectors between the MFA (Multi-Function Armrest) joystick/spool valve control lever and the TECU for pinched wires, corrosion in the connector pins, or loose connections.

   Physically inspect Valve Switch 6 (on the armrest or joystick) to ensure it moves freely without physical binding or sticking, which can cause calibration to fail.

   Clear Inactive Codes

   Clear the fault codes from the TECU memory to see if the code is active or stored.

   Perform Spool Valve Control Lever Calibration

   Access the tractor's Control Center Display (CCD / C1000) or use an approved diagnostic tool. Navigate to the TECU / MFA armrest system calibration menu. Select the calibration procedure for the 'Spool valve control lever' or 'Auxiliary Valve Switch'. Follow the on-screen prompts to move the switch through its full range of motion (fully forward, centered, fully backward) to allow the TECU to learn the minimum, maximum, and neutral voltage values.

   Verify Repair

   Cycle the key power. If the calibration is successful, the code 03.00.96 will clear.

   Component Replacement

   If the calibration fails repeatedly, or if the diagnostic tool shows erratic voltage sweeps during the calibration process, the internal potentiometer/switch has failed. Replace the Auxiliary Valve Switch / Spool Valve Control Lever assembly and repeat the calibration procedure.
