03.00.9B

Massey Ferguson 03.00.9B – TECU: High Voltage On Auxiliary Valve Switch 8 (TECU)

Issue description

The electronic control system has detected an abnormally high voltage signal on the circuit responsible for the 8th auxiliary (spool) valve switch. This is typically caused by a short to power (battery voltage) in the wiring harness, a failed switch, or a fault within the module itself.

Check the cause

  1. Visually inspect the wiring harness leading from the TECU to Auxiliary Valve Switch 8 (on the armrest or joystick console) for chafing, pinched wires, or exposed copper.

  2. Disconnect the switch and the TECU connectors to check for water ingress, bent pins, or corrosion.

  3. Use a multimeter to test the signal wire for Auxiliary Valve Switch 8 for a short to battery voltage.

  4. Test the auxiliary valve switch itself for internal shorts.

  5. If wiring and switch test fine, check if the system requires a recalibration via the tractor's diagnostic terminal.

Repair steps

  1. Disconnect Power

Turn off the tractor and disconnect the battery to prevent electrical spikes during repair.

  2. Access the Switch

Remove the necessary trim panels on the armrest or side console to access the auxiliary spool valve switches.

  3. Repair Wiring

If the diagnostic checks revealed a short to power in the harness, repair the damaged section of the wire using proper soldering and heat-shrink tubing, or replace the affected harness section.

  4. Replace the Switch

If the switch failed the multimeter test, unplug the electrical connector, unclip/unscrew the faulty Auxiliary Valve Switch 8, and install the new OEM switch.

  5. Reassemble and Reconnect

Reconnect the wiring harness, reinstall the console trim, and reconnect the battery.

  6. Clear Codes and Calibrate

Turn the key to the ON position. Use a diagnostic tool to clear the 03.00.9B fault code. Perform a spool valve calibration procedure as required by the TECU to ensure the new switch is recognized properly.
