   Inspect the wiring harness and connectors inside the multifunction armrest leading to the hitch depth control dial for pinched wires, chafing, or disconnected plugs.

   Check the reference voltage (typically 5V) and ground supplied to the dial's potentiometer using a multimeter.

   Perform a signal sweep test by back-probing the signal wire and slowly turning the hitch depth dial from minimum to maximum. Voltage should sweep smoothly between 0.5V and 4.5V. If voltage drops out, spikes, or reads 0V/5V constantly, the potentiometer has failed.

   Ensure the MFA module itself is communicating properly with the tractor's main ECU via the CAN bus network.

   Power Down

   Turn off the tractor ignition and disconnect the negative battery terminal to prevent electrical shorts.

   Access the Armrest Internals

   Carefully remove the retaining screws on the underside or perimeter of the Multifunction Armrest (MFA) to lift the top cover/console plate.

   Locate the Dial

   Identify the hitch depth control dial assembly and trace its wiring to the local MFA circuit board connector.

   Disconnect and Remove

   Unplug the electrical connector. Squeeze the retaining tabs or remove the mounting screws holding the dial into the armrest housing, and pull the dial out.

   Snap or screw the replacement hitch depth control dial into the armrest housing and reconnect the wiring harness.

   Reinstall the armrest cover and secure all screws.

   Clear Codes and Calibrate

   Reconnect the battery. Turn the ignition on and use a compatible diagnostic tool (such as Jaltest or the OEM Massey Ferguson EDT) to clear the 03.00.9F fault code. Test the hitch depth dial to ensure the rear linkage responds correctly and the code does not return.
