Massey Ferguson 03.02.94 – TECU: High Amp Draw On Auxiliary Valve Switch 6 (TECU)

   Locate Auxiliary Valve Switch 6 on the armrest console, Multipad joystick, or rear fender

   Inspect the wiring harness running from the TECU to the switch for chafed wires, pinched harnesses, or melted insulation

   Disconnect the switch and inspect the connector pins for moisture, corrosion, or bent pins bridging the power/signal wire to ground

   With the switch disconnected, use a multimeter to check for continuity between the signal wire in the harness and a known chassis ground to test for a short

   Test the switch itself for internal shorting using the ohms setting and compare resistance values against a known good switch

   Power Down

   Turn off the tractor ignition and disconnect the negative battery terminal to prevent electrical spikes.

   Access the Component

   Remove the necessary trim panels on the armrest or joystick assembly to access the wiring and the back of Auxiliary Valve Switch 6.

   Repair the Harness (If Applicable)

   If your multimeter test revealed a short to ground in the wiring, trace the wire back toward the TECU. Repair the chafed or broken section of the wire using heat-shrink butt connectors or replace the damaged harness section.

   Replace the Switch (If Applicable)

   If the harness tested fine but the switch failed the resistance test, unclip or unscrew the faulty switch from the console bezel and install the replacement switch.

   Reassembly

   Reconnect the switch plug, ensuring the locking tab clicks into place. Reinstall all armrest or console trim panels.

   Test and Clear

   Reconnect the battery. Turn the ignition on and use a diagnostic tool (or the tractor's dashboard diagnostic menu) to clear the stored 03.02.94 fault code. Test the operation of the 6th auxiliary valve to ensure the code does not return.
