Check the cause
Check Power and Ground Supplies: Verify the battery voltage and ground connections. Specifically, check the battery positive terminal contact (X465) and the Earth/Isobus ground (X463).
Check the 10-Volt Reference Circuit: Test the 10V reference circuit for shorts to ground or voltage drops.
Inspect Harness Junctions: Inspect the wiring harnesses for chafing, corrosion, or loose pins. Key junctions to check include the Pillar harness/TECU harness junction (X461) and the Pillar harness/armrest harness junction (X464).
Check CAN Bus Communication: Ensure there are no broken CAN lines preventing the TECU from communicating with the armrest or keypad.
Repair steps
Disconnect Power
Disconnect the battery negative cable prior to unhooking the TECU connectors to prevent electrical spikes.
Locate the TECU
Locate the module near the transmission housing or under the right-hand cab/armrest area (depending on the specific tractor model).
Remove the Module
Carefully unscrew and disconnect the 38-way connectors (Transmission Harness and Vehicle Interface Harness). Remove the mounting nuts and the retaining bracket holding the TECU in place, then pull the TECU assembly off the locating studs.
Install the New Module
Position the new TECU on the locating studs and install the retaining bracket. Tighten the mounting nuts to the specified torque (typically 7–9 lb-ft / 9.5–12.2 N•m). Reconnect the 38-way connectors and tighten them carefully.
Restore Power and Calibrate
Reconnect the battery negative cable. Program and calibrate the new TECU (e.g., cab suspension, transmission, and linkage calibrations) using an AGCO dealer diagnostic tool to match the tractor's specific configuration.
